Terms of Service — Anima

By creating an account or using Anima, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app.

1. Who we are

Anima is operated by Ion Varanita, a sole developer based in Romania. Contact: ion.varanita18@gmail.com.

2. The service

Anima is a community marketplace for trading, gifting, and selling items locally. We provide the platform; the trades themselves happen between you and other users.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher) to use Anima.

4. Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe.
• You must provide accurate profile information (name, username).
• One person, one account. Don’t impersonate others or create duplicate accounts.

5. What you can list and trade

You may list items you legally own and have the right to give, sell, or trade.

You may not list:

• Illegal items, controlled substances, weapons, or items requiring a regulated transfer
• Counterfeit or stolen goods
• Animals
• Hazardous materials
• Adult or sexually explicit content
• Items that infringe third-party intellectual property
• Anything that violates local law in your or the recipient’s jurisdiction

We may remove listings that violate these rules and may suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly do so.

6. Conduct

You agree to:

• Treat other users with respect.
• Not harass, threaten, or discriminate against anyone.
• Not use the chat for spam, scams, phishing, or bulk advertising.
• Not attempt to bypass safety features (reporting, blocking, etc.).
• Not reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise abuse the app.

7. Trades happen offline

Anima helps you find a match. The actual exchange — meeting, payment, shipping, condition, refunds — is between you and the other user. We are not a party to the trade and don’t guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of items.

Use common sense:

• Meet in a public place.
• Inspect items before completing the trade.
• Tell someone you trust where you are going.

8. Karma Credits and Anima Plus

Karma Credits are an in-app accounting unit used to balance trades. They have no monetary value, can’t be cashed out, and aren’t transferable outside Anima.

Anima Plus is an optional paid subscription. It is billed by the App Store or Google Play according to their terms. You can cancel any time from your platform’s subscription settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

9. Content you post

You keep ownership of the photos, descriptions, and messages you post. By posting, you grant Anima a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute that content strictly to operate the app (e.g. showing your listing in another user’s discovery feed). This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.

10. Reporting and moderation

If you encounter content or behaviour that violates these terms, report it through the in-app report flow or by emailing ion.varanita18@gmail.com. We review reports and may remove content or suspend accounts.

11. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from the in-app profile screen. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or if required by law.

12. Disclaimers

The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We are not liable for the conduct of other users or for losses arising from off-platform interactions.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Anima is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) €50.

This limitation does not apply where excluded by law (e.g. for gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or non-waivable consumer rights).

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Romania, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes are subject to the courts of the city of the controller’s residence, except where local consumer- protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.

15. Changes

We may update these terms as the app evolves. Material changes are announced in the app and via email at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use after the change means you accept the new terms.
